Odonata Incoming!

Hey folks!

It's been a pretty tough journey game making so far, Ani and I had originally began a hugely ambitious plan to make a big game about 4 and a half years ago, however at that point of conception, neither of us had the technical know-how or the experience to achieve such an ordeal.

Ever since then we've been learning as much as possible to make us battle-ready for game makin'. We've gone through six game engines, four programming languages, massive amount of ideas and eye melting headaches.

With all that learn-work under our belt, we made a scratch start on Odonata at the beginning of this year.

So...at this stage, I feel that we're ready to make a start with posting our development progress, we will be revealing the first preview of Odonata on March 31st!!!

When I say "preview" I mean super-ultra-alpha-alpha, so adjust your expectations appropriately! Haha! We're only two months in this new definitive build of Odonata, just cleared past the early core function/conception stage. Right now, we're trying to get it all together to make it presentable and at least interesting to look at.

At the moment ALL the assets are simple placeholders for now. Crude prototype assets are not pretty, but it's important that we focus on the core gameplay and mechanics. We are artists to the core after all, because of that, the pretty arty stuff is going to be the last thing we will be doing so that game-side doesn't suffer. At the end of this we certainly don't want a pretty game with no punch.

Anyway, we'll be providing more info about what the game is actually about and the game-plan with the preview at the end of the month.

I'll be seein' you in a month! Let's hope we can nail that deadline!

In recent news regarding Odonata, we have had a bit of a set back resulting in a whole months worth of programming wasted on a silly miscalculation from yours truly. :)

However, things are back on track and we are working as hard as we always are on getting it to a presentable state.

The Goalkeeper!


Just thought I'd post an old TF2 item I submitted about 9 months ago, the stats and name were revealed during a steam translation leak about 5-6 months ago. Had a lot of fun with this one, largest/complex item I've done so far. :) Named it based on the anti-missile warship cannon.

Nudle Doodles!

Here's some figure studies, not done a little doodle page like this for a long time! :D

Really enjoy drawing wacky dynamic poses ha, no lazy leg amputees this time either! Need to improve my line control a little though, I end up going over my lines too much because I'm so rusty, they just get thicker and thicker the less I draw haha.


Project Odonata is going strong, I'm planning on making some development posts of some of our programming scenes and thesis so you have something to look at, rather than me just telling you about it every other month :p

TF2 - The Deus Ex Update!

Hey everyone! Still going strong on Odonata, Ani and I are healthily nearing a playable prototype. Will have something to post very soon! Including a new development blog and an IndieDB page. :D

I also will be doing some art soon. I admit, I really have dropped off the wagon for that. Programming is a tough job!

A month ago I was approached by Eidos-Montreal to create a set of TF2 promotional items to promote their amazing upcoming title, Deus Ex: Human Revolution! What an honour!

Among the eight items Eidos-Montreal pitched to Valve for the promotion, I was given the choice to create four of them. I decided to choose the following, The Short Circuit, The Diamondback, The Widowmaker and The Deus Specs. You can check 'em out after the jump! Valve then created the rest internally, The Machina, Nanobalaclava, Purity fist and The Company Man.

Like all contributed items in the Mann Co. Store, Valve give a generous 25% of the sales to the creators, so I will receive 25% of the sales from the four Deus Ex items/bundle I created in the Mann Co. Store.

So, if you like my items and Deus Ex for that matter, I would be honoured if you grabbed them in TF2's Mann Co. store!
